::blows dust off of weblog::
I feel like I have a LOT of time this weekend... which hasn't happened in a long time. And it's nice. But I feel like I should be busying myself with something...
Therefore, pictures from my trip to Israel are finally going up! :O Gonna post them a day at a time, for people who are actually interested in looking at them. :P
Day 1 (Christmas Day): Tel Aviv
Israel is an incredible place, if I haven't told you already... I know that most people think that Israel is a dangerous place to visit and it's completely a war zone or something, but it really isn't. We spent most of our nights at the Sheraton Moriah in Tel Aviv, which is located right next to the Mediterranean Sea. The thing about Israel is it only takes 8 hours to drive from one end of the country to the other, so we didn't have to stay in many different hotels.
It was interesting to spend Christmas in the only place in the world that doesn't really celebrate Christmas (with the exception of Bethlehem and Jerusalem, I guess). It was a typical day in Tel Aviv; my mom and I even visited the flea market on a street called Nakhalat Binyamin. I wasn't brave enough to take pictures there though since it was really crowded :P
Israel is bordered by four bodies of water: the Sea of Galilee to the north, the Mediterranean to the west, the Red Sea to the south, and the Dead Sea to the east. The Mediterranean Sea is stunning. It's so calm.. and clear... There's hardly any seaweed, but there are tons of intact shells, and the sand is the finest I've ever seen/felt.
