::looks back on the past year:: >__>
Obviously, I haven't been keeping this weblog as up-to-date as I should be. There were times when I updated my weblog daily or every other day, and I think that was really useful for me... because I know I wouldn't have remembered that some things happened had I not written about it. It's just that I've never been able to keep a journal or diary consistently in my life. I don't think that writing is my strongest point, so having a Tumblr has helped me in that I can incorporate my writing with photos, links, quotes, and conversations.
Another downside is that with the current design I have up, it really doesn't look good if I have entries that are one paragraph or less in length. You know, sometimes, I only need a couple sentences to describe what is going on in my life, which is why Twitter has been so useful to me. I really don't like having that minimum amount I have to write when I want to update my weblog. I know this doesn't seem to be a problem at all for some of the new students… ::coughEugeneandTiffcough:: Anyone want my current design once I stop using it? >_>
Which brings me to another point. I've had a couple ideas floating around in my head, but I feel like anything I think of just isn't original enough… like they end up seriously looking like either Alex's or Quad's designs. -_-
I know that I'm not nearly as good of a designer as them, but it's kind of discouraging when all I can come up with is something that's either so minimalistic that it's nothing better than what TIC students can do, or something that's so image-heavy that it'll take the browser years to load my page properly. x_x I guess I should just stop complaining and being lazy and actually start working on this stuff. I have no excuse because it's August, and I have nothing to do. Since I didn't have internet connection that often in Oregon, I've found that writing distraction-free (with only my music) is much better for me than having PChat and various IM windows open… I should really look into WriteRoom…

I think you worry too much. Just make something and then fix it / improve on it later. Regular,
incremental improvements are much better (for your work and for your confidence) than rare
Eureka moments.

I've probably already told you but I love your blog design. (: But if you do feel as if you need to get a new one, I totally agree with Quad's suggestion. Perhaps change some colors (css)? Maybe change the background or something? Little steps. (:
Froozen FTW! :D *wants her own weblog so she can document Taiwan life. :D*
