the summer sun

I don’t understand why, but I can seem to get into the swing of summer this year. Maybe it’s because I was gone the first week of ATDP, but since I came back it seems like I never really…caught up. It’s disorienting.

Things have changed this summer. My computer is blocking the TIC09 site, so I never spend time on the site. I’m always tired, so all I do at home is sleep or make jewelry when I can. In Berkeley, I don’t have the energy to stay for the PM session, and even during the AM session I don’t feel like I’m really there for my students. I’m a speculator, drifting through class somewhere between consciousness and daydream.

Guys from the Russia group, I miss you so much. It’s horrible. My suitcase is still in my room, filled with all the souvenirs I brought home with me. I can’t stand to put them away. The summer sun reminds me that I am home in California, and you guys are miles - continents - away from me.
