Sweet Sixteen
[The first thing Tansen said to me this morning was “BITTER SIXTEEN!!” (last night he exclaimed “SOUR SIXTEEN!!”)]
I got to the school a little late. The tardy bell went off when I was walking up the stairs, but Ms. De Hart is nice about being a little late. Jackie and Emily passed me walking in the opposite direction on the second floor and wished me a Happy Birthday - it didn’t occur to me that Emily should have been in the art building until I got to class. I walked through the door and everybody shouted “Happy Birthday!” My chair had balloons tied to it and there were presents, cards, and a birthday breakfast (cupcake, cookie, and a banana, hahaha) on my desk.
I was so surprised, it took me a moment to realize that it was my desk. Warm, fuzzy happy feeling. Like I swallowed a kitten. :)
Guys, thank you so much for a wonderful Sweet Sixteen :) You guys are awesome, I love you so much.
Our chem lab imploded, but that’s okay. Connie and I suffered relatively few burning-marshmallow-smelling stains on our hands and clothes, and afterward we had a nice long chat about life with Ms. Carlock.
It was also fun to walk home with balloons.
