:D :D happy birthday Mom!

… :D

Connie and my latest collab work, not counting what went down in chemistry. Though let’s not go there.

Much more successful than last year, and about half as pricey. I have Connie’s extensive knowledge of produce prices to thank for that.

:D :D :D

fruit platter! :D

Big Idea Day, Identity Shifts

aka Open House at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts.

It was BUSY. Almost as soon as Connie and I arrived, we volunteered to run (really run) to Kinko’s to have a poster blown up and copied….not knowing that it was an eight-block sprint uphill and then back. We arrived back to our instructor and a couple of classmates frantically setting up, and jumped in.

Several inquiries, a collapsing table, two boxes tossed down a stairway, 65 folded T-shirts, and about ten jars of printing ink later, we finally opened the T-shirt printing to the visitors. We were on our feet for three and a half hours - before our shift was even over at 2:30, all the T-shirts had been claimed, and I’d silkscreened about 25 souvenir posters (or 50, I’m not really sure how many were in the pad of poster paper e.e)

Things that did not go so well…the 2:30 shift didn’t showed up. One of them came for the wrong shift; two were more than half an hour late; one had already warned us he was working, and didn’t expect to be able to make it in. Even without anymore T-shirts, we were short on people. Connie and I stayed half an hour past the end of our shift, and then finally had to go.

Things that went well? It was great, a ton of people came and some even brought their own shirts to print on. We were really busy, and despite getting ink all over myself I had an awesome time. :P

I hope we still have the screens on Tuesday. I want to print my design onto one of my t-shirts.
