Today: haha had a table slap-off with Connie XD during the lunch Science Bowl meeting
They accepted me and Connie into the program! omgomgomgomgomgomgomg :D I’m so excited! This is the first time I’ve ever applied for something this way. I never expected to get past the first cut - when they called me back for an interview, I was shocked. I compiled the best portfolio I could pull together from three years of saved artwork.
I can’t believe it! We made the second cut too!
There are downsides too. Vacation plans are essentially down the drain. By the time graduation is over, there aren’t enough weeks left in summer to go anywhere, though I suppose Tansen should be getting a job this summer anyways. College is coming up soon. There’s not much more time before he’s off.
Going into this program also means I won’t be coming back to ATDP this year. When I first realized it, I couldn’t believe it. I can just see everyone taking Spark’s class together, the differences between ‘06 and ‘07 nonexistent under the new title of alumni.
This is the first time I’ve realized…I’m not a part of that picture, am I? It’s the worst thing I could possibly have sacrificed. I’ve hated high school so far, and the only thing I was looking forward to was ATDP. It’s not summer without TIC.
I can’t believe I won’t be a part of it this year.
There are sacrifices, I guess. To take chances like this and do something different while I have the time and opportunity - in exchange I have to give up something I love.
