Homecoming

Updated daily throughout Homecoming Week :O

Friday: Red and White Day

Also the Lip Sync contest.

Mood: excited! :D
Today: SO FAR, the Lip Sync, haha

The seniors decorated the school again. The front had a big-ass poster saying, “OKAY LOWERCLASSMEN, WE LET YOU HAVE YOUR FUN, BUT IT’S OUR YEAR SO BOW DOWN TO YOUR ELDERS!” or something like that. We saw it being torn down about 10 minutes into Chemistry. They also filled the glass tower with at least a hundred or so pink balloons.

The rally was fun. I was trying to pay attention and play deuces with Andrew S., Timothy, and Andrew O. at the same time, which didn’t work out too well. After a while I gave up and gave Khalil my cards. Then during the last cheer, April tried to get me to scream by screaming at an almost ultrasonic pitch in my ear.

Some people nominated the Berger twins for Count and Countess, and they actually won the vote somehow but were disqualified. >__>”“

The Lip Sync was awesome! There wasn’t a freshman group, since apparently no one signed up…the sophomores were really energetic, and I liked their music. The juniors were good too, but the seniors had the best costumes, choreography, and moves. Also, their last song was so original.

Seniors also won for best costumes, every day of the week. XD

Thursday: Generation Day

Freshmen — babies
Sophomores — elementary schoolers
Juniors — adults
Seniors — senior citizens

Mood: OMGAAAH
Today: sticking my magnetic bracelet/necklace to the doorframe during Jazz Lab. I think I caught a little attention when I was jumping up and down, trying to stick it to the top.

SORRY NO BABY CLOTHES. So I just wore green. My favorite person was the senior who dressed himself as a coffin.

Freshmen decorated the school today. I think today was the only day the school journalists didn’t like the decorations:

“Even though I like to avoid turning the school website into a senior propaganda machine during Homecoming, the freshmen need some constructive criticism.

There is a subtle distinction between decorating the school and covering it in colorful trash. For example, Styrofoam cups are not an effective ornament. Strewing sheaves upon sheaves of green paper on the floor that say, “Go Green” is not good publicity. When it is the second-to-last day of Homecoming week avoid using the phrase, “The one-one party’s just begun.”

The arch of green helium balloons spanning the amphitheater was good as was he canvas sign advised everyone to “get some $.” Especially because if you were clever enough, it was easy to follow instructions, in the halls the shrapnel actually included green eleven-dollar bills.”

It wasn’t our fault. People came at 3 in the morning to start decorating, then one block period into school, the upperclassmen had already ripped apart all the posters and littered them all over the halls. And sometime during the day, somebody climbed up and cut off the balloon arch. People have problems. Next time I’m going to climb on top of the lunch shelter and boot off all their balloons.

I didn’t help decorate, but I spent so much time cleaning the paint off the windows. They’re still a little bit green.

I DO wish ‘11 had a better motto though. =/

Wednesday: Halloween

Also, food eating contest during lunch.

Mood: :|
Today: rofl PE; first day of swimming. Went downhill after I got into the advanced group. I didn’t know any other strokes, so I just flopped through the water for butterfly. Facefirst.

Uh, yea, so basically a few people dressed up. At first I wanted to swap TIC sweaters with Tansen and make that my Halloween costume, but he didn’t want to go around all day wearing “RAIKIA” on his back. Then I thought that maybe I should wear all his paintball equipment, but…yea…That might have been a little hard to handle before/after swimming.

Haha, Melanie’s costume was the best. She dressed up as a man-gangster and spent the passing periods posing and swaggering down the hallways.

Haha, sophomore’s day to decorate the school, and their class color is orange. I don’t know how they got jack-o-lantern garbage bags all the way up there.

Tuesday: Color (War) Day

The “war” part is mutually understood.

Mood: …bleeerrrgh…(tummy hurts)
Today: rofl, math classroom swap was surprisingly exciting

Freshmen = green, sophomores = orange, juniors = yellow, seniors = pink. School population segregated by class color all over the courtyard, silly string everywhere, spray-painting other people’s hair, yellow posters and streamers for Junior Day decorations all over the front of the school.

Aaaand you have our Tuesday Color War Day.

At first I was going to wear neutral grayish greens. I had camo pants and a silvery green sweater, but then I thought what the heck and wore my bright green t-shirt with mushrooms on it.

One day left to figure out how we’re going to deck the halls in green.

Monday: Twin Day

Mood: content
Today: Balancing pens on the floor compared to the desk in GeoH. The most interesting thing I did all day.

Haha, so originally I wasn’t going to have a twin for Twin Day. Instead I wore my normal black pants, last year’s blue band T-Shirt (I’d seen a couple people wearing it at school, so there was the chance one of them would wear it again today), and my TIC sweater. I go downstairs - and Tansen is also wearing black pants and his TIC sweater. I’m accidentally twins with my brother on Twin Day.

Also, Jeff was wearing the blue band T-Shirt. Coincidence.

Today was the seniors’ day to decorate the school. Apparently some people showed up at like, 1:30 am to start decorations. Their class color is pink (::jealous::), so there were pink streamers and silly string all over the bushes, then I get to the front of the school. They taped pink posters that said “‘08 DOMINATE” all over the front of the building so that they spelled out 2008. So many people were dressed up in pink, for Twin Day, or for both. There were balloons all over the ceilings on every floor, balloons tied to traffic cones on top of the lunch shelter, pink sequence all over the ground, and a pink carpet (red carpet? get it?) at the main entrance.

Haha, time to figure out a way to duplicated that with green. ‘11 may have to rebel and change their color one year.
