I just learned on the trip that's it's Angel's Camp, not Angel Camp. I think Tansen told me before but I wasn't listening. ::lol::
Day 1: Horseback riding! Weather: sunny
It was a really nice day too. We went to this ranch, and at first we couldn't figure out how to go in because we were on time for the appointment, but the gates were locked. Tansen called the people and they said that the gates had to be kept closed so the cattle didn't wander onto the highway.
Anyways, the horse I was riding was named Gus. It was a pretty small horse (probably a pony, I'm not that great at looking for the 14 hands mark), pinto, and generally sweet-tempered. The only exceptions were at the beginning, where he kept trying to pull the reins out of my hands (the guide person told us that he would stop after he was done testing my grip), and at the end, where he flattened his ears every time Tansen's horse got too close. I think Gus tried to kick him once. Tansen's horse was Pig (he bit Gus), a big chestnut. Mom's was a fleabittin horse about the same size as Gus, named Ted.
After horseback riding we went to the hotel. It was almost the same as last time we went to Angel's Camp, but with two stories. :)
Day 2: Cave-viewing Weather: Raining/Snowing
My favorite parts were the gift shops :) Looking at shiny rocks is always fun. The first cave we saw was actually a goldmine (Sutter...Gold Mine...>.>). There wasn't actually that much to see, but the tour guide was pretty nice.
I liked the second cave a lot better, Black Chasm (my mom kept pronouncing it as spelled). There were a lot of really nice formations. Plus, it was snowing up there :) I liked this tour guide too. We were the only ones on both tours, which my mom liked, but I kind of felt like we were making the people give us tours...xD
Day 3: Skiing Weather: Sunny/snowing
...at Bear Valley. Good thing it snowed on the second day.
I guess the slopes were good, but I wasn't really feeling much like a daredevil, so I stayed on really easy slopes with nice views. Buh. I guess it was okay.
Oh, and, um, I was SO prepared, and then I forgot my jacket.
Day 4: Murphys Village Weather: Sunny
We pretty much just walked around town. We spent a lot of time in this one little shop. My mom bought me a rooster statue I really liked, but I think I have to pay her back now >.>'
After that we went to Irongate Vineyards. We came last time too, but my mom wanted to show my grandparents the world's biggest gold nugget. Last time we came, there were tulips out front - this time there were daffodils, because of the season. Not as much color, but they smelled nice :)
Mmm...I just hugn around while my mom and grandparents did some wine tasting. I saw some french candies and lemon bark that I wanted to get, but I think my mom forgot about it after we bought the wine, so I didn't say anything. I'll just...get Koki (Janvi? Who made bark for Christmas? xD) to smash up some lemon heads and make me some bark. >:]
Oh, and while we were watching TV in the hotel, we kept seeing this commercial for a one-day show about the current war in Iraq. I noticed it wasn't very encouraging. First of all, the show was called "Our Children's Children's War." I mean, for goodness sakes. Pass it along to us why don't you. Then at the end of the commercial, Bush said, "The war started on my watch. It'll end on your watch."
[And it airs on my birthday. T___T]
