Thunder!

Yes! The year's first thunderstorm! While I was awake anyways.

Okayokayokay, so today during math, everybody was all like HOMG SO MUCH RAIN D: because we could hear it through the roof. Outside it was all dark and gray with the clouds, which sucked, because I ended up walking home without an umbrella. But it was fun. I got to stuff my hair and scarf under my jacket hood. The teacher threatened to drop the blinds because we were all looking outside.

Then during homework time we all heard (and felt) this big thunder smash, then there was like a three second silence and them somebody said holy crap. Nobody saw the lightning. There was only one boom, but it was awesome anyways.

KATIE'S BACK!!!! And OMG she brought CANDY!!! :D :D :D

To-do list before my birthday

  • clean my room - 10% done
  • finish built-up kumon - lol totally unfinished
  • count new jars of paper stars - unstarted

  • finish drawing horse for Brit (lol my Brit not yours P) - 30% done

Angel's Camp

I just learned on the trip that's it's Angel's Camp, not Angel Camp. I think Tansen told me before but I wasn't listening. ::lol::

Day 1: Horseback riding! Weather: sunny

It was a really nice day too. We went to this ranch, and at first we couldn't figure out how to go in because we were on time for the appointment, but the gates were locked. Tansen called the people and they said that the gates had to be kept closed so the cattle didn't wander onto the highway.

Anyways, the horse I was riding was named Gus. It was a pretty small horse (probably a pony, I'm not that great at looking for the 14 hands mark), pinto, and generally sweet-tempered. The only exceptions were at the beginning, where he kept trying to pull the reins out of my hands (the guide person told us that he would stop after he was done testing my grip), and at the end, where he flattened his ears every time Tansen's horse got too close. I think Gus tried to kick him once. Tansen's horse was Pig (he bit Gus), a big chestnut. Mom's was a fleabittin horse about the same size as Gus, named Ted.

After horseback riding we went to the hotel. It was almost the same as last time we went to Angel's Camp, but with two stories. :)

Day 2: Cave-viewing Weather: Raining/Snowing

My favorite parts were the gift shops :) Looking at shiny rocks is always fun. The first cave we saw was actually a goldmine (Sutter...Gold Mine...>.>). There wasn't actually that much to see, but the tour guide was pretty nice.

I liked the second cave a lot better, Black Chasm (my mom kept pronouncing it as spelled). There were a lot of really nice formations. Plus, it was snowing up there :) I liked this tour guide too. We were the only ones on both tours, which my mom liked, but I kind of felt like we were making the people give us tours...xD

Day 3: Skiing Weather: Sunny/snowing

...at Bear Valley. Good thing it snowed on the second day.

I guess the slopes were good, but I wasn't really feeling much like a daredevil, so I stayed on really easy slopes with nice views. Buh. I guess it was okay.

Oh, and, um, I was SO prepared, and then I forgot my jacket.

Day 4: Murphys Village Weather: Sunny

We pretty much just walked around town. We spent a lot of time in this one little shop. My mom bought me a rooster statue I really liked, but I think I have to pay her back now >.>'

After that we went to Irongate Vineyards. We came last time too, but my mom wanted to show my grandparents the world's biggest gold nugget. Last time we came, there were tulips out front - this time there were daffodils, because of the season. Not as much color, but they smelled nice :)

Mmm...I just hugn around while my mom and grandparents did some wine tasting. I saw some french candies and lemon bark that I wanted to get, but I think my mom forgot about it after we bought the wine, so I didn't say anything. I'll just...get Koki (Janvi? Who made bark for Christmas? xD) to smash up some lemon heads and make me some bark. >:]

Oh, and while we were watching TV in the hotel, we kept seeing this commercial for a one-day show about the current war in Iraq. I noticed it wasn't very encouraging. First of all, the show was called "Our Children's Children's War." I mean, for goodness sakes. Pass it along to us why don't you. Then at the end of the commercial, Bush said, "The war started on my watch. It'll end on your watch."

[And it airs on my birthday. T___T]

Blarblar...blar....

Nyaarrr. Angel Camp! I'll be back....Saturday....like, 11:59 pm, hahaha....Horseback riding/hiking/skiing/exploring caves. :) And we get to stay in a hotel suit (condo?) that has a living room, kitchen (with excellent appliances), bathroom, and bedrooms. YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE<333

We have the week off! :D I wish we'd made crepes in school though. Our French teacher just gave us those cheap shiny plastic necklaces you made bead dogs out of. Well, I'm not complaining about making bead dogs, but crepes are edible. =.=

Okay. Prepare for updates when I get back!

EDIT: Lol, my spasm of E's goes out of the box. >.>"

womgs!

A few months ago, Jason sent me a song called Fuhen. I listened to it and it sounded okay, but I never really thought about it. Today Windows Media just happened to play it, and I immediately recognized the Samurai 7 ending song. o.O

Not such a good Friday...

Well, a group of friends and I were sitting in the band room hallway, when somehow, we got onto the topic of his shoes. Then he said something really stupidly obvious:

“Well, my toes are here and my heel is behind it—”
Me (dripping with sarcasm): “No. Way.”
::silence::
Me (mumbling): “Sorry, bad habit.”

Maybe a few weeks ago, he would have laughed it off, but not now. I couldn’t even look at him when he was sitting by me. I think one of my friends noticed, but I also think she understood. Thank you, even though you’ll never read this, Brit.

I swore I wouldn’t speak to him, and look how it turned out. =.=

It’s strange how silent and sudden this was. I’m not even sure if he knows what he did. Knowing his character, he probably doesn’t. We’re drifting apart so quickly, but who knows, he might grow up in the next three years.

Or…he might just continue being an ass and we’ll all live happily ever after without speaking to each other.

Edit: Alina, can you fix your validation errors? I kinda fixed yours last time…after you make an entry always check. :)

...

I don’t know who you are anymore. You’ve changed too much, for the worse. What happened to you?

You used to smile, now you shut yourself away. You’re too proud for your own good, and your effing swollen ego annoys me to heck.

I don’t care about you anymore. I can’t care about you, after what you did.

…Happy Valentine’s Day

Kiddy Grade

I think this new Typekey filter is too troublesome for people to bother commenting. I'm a bit lazy myself. ::lol::

Anyways, I just finished watching the anime series Kiddy Grade. It's pretty much about how humanity has spread throughout the universe. The GOTT (Galactic Organization of Trade and Tariffs) is a police force that takes part in managing the crime that spreads with humanity's population. The storyline focuses on Eclair and Lumiere, a low level partner team in the GOTT, as Eclair suddenly begins to have violent flashbacks of a past nobody wishes for her to remember. (Well, that part about the flashbacks is Wiki's version of it. The show didn't actually focus on the flashbacks for that long. The bigger problem is when Eclair and Lumiere become fugitives by fighting for their belief that the "pure-blood Earth-borns" have no right to enslave other "commoner" humans.)

The anime was pretty good, actually, despite Eclair always saying 'ta-da' and using lipstick whips/guns/bombs as weapons. In fact there was this one episode where a friend made her wear lipstick, but Eclair couldn't tell her that lipstick made her super-strength powers hard to control. The storyline was pretty understandable, and I watched the whole thing in English dub. It was actually very nicely done - not as nice as, say, the Miyazaki movies, but for English dub it was pretty damn good. (I watched the first two episodes in Japanese but the long words in the subtitles took too much time to process.)

FAVORITE CHARACTERS (they wouldn't fit on my DeviantArt)
-Dextera and Sinistra (Awesome!)
-Mercredi (I like her ability but she was actually kind of disappointing in the anime itself)
-Tweedledee and Tweedledum
-Viola and Cesario
-OMG I LOVE UN-OH'S VOICE ACTOR :D :D :D

Oh, and the La Muse had a very nice design. I liked the first paint coat better though.

Samurai 7

I just finished watching the anime series. Overall it was a really nice anime - I recommend watching it. It's 27 episodes, I think.

STORYLINE:

After the war, the samurai faded away as the merchants rose. Some samurai wandered about, looking for jobs. Others had their bodies changed into machines and became bandits, stealing rice from farmers. Kanna Village was one such village, invaded yearly by bandits.

One year, the village elder decided that the bandits needed to be killed. Every year more rice was being taken, and now the bandits were taking women too. He sent Kirara, the Mikumari-sama (Water Maiden) to the city to find and hire samurai. She posseses a special crystal that can read the flow of water underground, and it seems to be able to read the hearts of others as well. Thus she is able to locate worthy samurai. She travels along with Komachi, her little sister, and Rikichi, a village man whose wife had turned herself over to the bandits in order to protect the village.

I don't think I should say any more, because the good part of the anime is about finding the samurai and how they defend the village. The anime is sort of in two parts, the second part being where they go and try to rescue women who were taken away from the villages.

BAD PARTS (because you always say them first o:)

I think they changed artists somewhere in the first part, because the movement of the chracters suddenly got...I dunno, a lot more noodley. And the expresssions changed. It was kind weird, but I got used to it after a while. Some of the voice actors started to bug me after a while, but it was fine. I'm just strange.

And the worst part...

MY TWO FAVORITE CHARACTERS DIED!!! T____________________T Well, the whole end of the anime was kind of depressing for me. It was pretty dispiriting when I started to get bored of a few of the characters, but what was just me. Then the end was so sad, but it all ended up good. I guess anyone who wasn't particularly attached to any of the characters would have loved the anime.

GOOD PARTS

Well, unlike longer animes like Naruto and Bleach, there weren't any fillers, and therefore the animation quality stayed reasonably stable throughout all the episodes. I think we can all agree that was hardly true for Naruto and Bleach. The actions scenes were very nicely done, even though I think the explosions were a little too overboard. Character designs were pretty crafty. Each character had a distinct personality and role. The storyline was pretty cool too - that's one of the reasons why I like Samurai 7 more than Ghost in the Shell, which I stopped watching a few months ago.

EDIT: Favorite Characters:
-Kyuzo (OMG -steals twin swords-)
-Heihachi! (I'd give him a fajillion rice balls if he let me hug the ghost on the end of his sword. :D)
-Shichiroji! (MAD SPEAR OWNAGE >:D~)
-KOMACHI AND OCARA-CHAAAAAAN

Reach up

Misting gray
Over night, Over day
Like a child's blanket
of Nightmares
Hiding the sun, the moon
the stars
Beauty becomes acrid
burning
where light might have been
like Eternity entwined with Infinity

If only, if only
If only I could just reach up and wipe it all away.
I'll work on it later. I came up with the last two lines of the poem when I was in China. The inspiration is mine to know - I'll leave it to you guys to interpret it how you like. P, I swear on Triple Espresso gelato and cantaloupes that one day I will get by butt on PhotoShop and make a banner. -ahem- Also mine to know: what the heck I'm doing up at 2 in the morning writing month-old poems on a school night.
