From the Metaverse today...but expanded.
This may be a kind of weird question, but do you guys think you are more of a “giver” or a “getter”? Both? Of course, it’s not the point of the holidays, but I was just curious.
I feel like I’m a giver. I like to give presents, but usually my own bag is mostly empty when I get home. I don’t mind if I don’t get anything in return, but if you give someone something handmade or special, do you think that they owe you? Around this time of year, I always feel a pull of strings on my ethical side and my generous side. It’s a fine balance, because making someone expect something from you isn’t good, but you can’t tell them that.
For example, I know a girl who is extremely nice and popular, and therefore gets a lot of presents on her birthday, Christmas, etc. I certainly don’t hate her or harbor feelings of jealousy, but many people know that she never gives any gifts in return. Technically, I had some experience with that…::mumbles:: Anyways, would you think that it would be right to continue giving her gifts? Especially expensive ones? Broadway merchandise doesn’t come cheap, and I know for a fact she didn’t buy the ones she has.
Oops, gotta finish later. Computer class, I hate thee.
