Girls and Sports
Who says that girls are not interested in sports? There are many facinating sports that challenge the body and mind. Traditionaly sports have been seen as a "guy thing", but no more! Now more than 2.5 million girls play on sports teams compared to 300,000 in the early 70s. Dr. Letha Hunter a sports medicine expert in Atlanta said, "A guy who competed and won proved his masculinity a women who did the same thing had to prove her feminity." The women's sports revolution changed a lot of the sterotypes that labled women who played sports. Sports are a great way to meet new people, get excercise and have fun. Football, baseball and basketball are not the only sports out there. We tried to gather information about new and not-so-common sports as well as focasing on some of the old favorites. Please let us know if there is a particular sport or woman athelete that you would like to hear more about or send us something that you wrote and we'll post it on our page.

positive messages to send to women and girls. Read about the characters, the
