In APUSH, we're currently in the Progressive Era and discussing the American emergence as a world power. Imperialism vs Isolationism!

Well, I don't know enough about the topic to write about it. But I wanted to note that I'm seeing myself as kind of the US back then. Should I isolate myself from the apparent situation that's happening right next to me, or do I intervene and take control of the rogue nation, potentially creating resentment from my rampant intervention in their affairs. Drawing parallels between national politics and interpersonal relations is quite interesting to be honest.
