Everchanging

February 14, 2008

My Valentine's have never been ordinary since 8th grade. Albeit only 3 years, but ever since I asked that first girl out on Valentine's Day, and got rejected btw, today has always been a day to just enjoy the things love makes people do.

This year and last, my class has sold roses as a Valentine's Fundraisers. The reason I love this fundraiser is that I get to chill with the people in Leadership and we just have a really good time putting together flowers, talking about stuff, and other miscellaneous activities.

The second thing about Valentine's Day for me now, is that I dress nice. Not like suit and tie nice, but I dress nicer than if it was any other day at school. I don't exactly know why I feel like I have to dress nicer than usual, but it probably has to do with trying to attract the opposite sex.

It seems that the opposite sex is what makes Valentine's Day interesting. All the who likes who and who asked who out today really just helps the mood of the day. Even I start getting a little bit like, "Do I like her?"

Yup, to be honest, I think I'm starting to like this one girl that's in my Leadership class again. And actually, that feeling is pretty baseless; Meaning that, I think she likes me, but then again, its just kinda like, oh she started talking to me near Valentine's Day, so she must like me...blah blah. Ok, this is really just me getting euphoric on the wishfulness of today.

Another thing that's changed about today is that, I'm trying out for the Volleyball team. Why they had tryouts today, beats me. I could've spent the afternoon with her kinda sorta, but the tryouts themselves weren't that bad. The only thing that bugs me is that, there are a lot of Seniors and Junior trying out, most of which will probably make Varsity, but they're about as good or worse than me...But because I'm an underclassman, I'm gonna be stuck on JV with all the newbies trying out this year.

I guess it kinda just frustrates me that because I'm probably the median in skill level, but because the lower end is a lot lower than me, and the upper end is only slightly higher than me, but have seniority, I'm getting the short end of the the stick. Bah, I'll still play, I want to do something fun this semester.
