"Houses in Montevideo are stuck one to the other without space in between. The fronts are right up to the sidewalk with no front porch. When I enter my house the lightly colored walls filled with paintings give you a sense of warmth. A red ceramic floor makes sure I'm cold when you get out of bed. An angled staircase goes up to the study room (where the computer is!), and along it is a big window made of painted glass. The house has lots of light, a big back yard with a b-ball hoop, a jasmine tree, and lots of grass."
