I wonder how old you have to be to have a nervous breakdown. I swear I'm going to have one soon, at the rate I'm going. Driving is not good for my nervous system, definitely not. And of course, the fact that my father seems to think that yelling at me and making me freak out is a good way to teach me how to drive is just icing on the cake. Thankfully I'm not a completely incompetent driver, not crashes.....yet. Though I should never park, ever, unless its to my left and at a slant. ^_^ But driving is fun. I haven't actually driven over 45 mph yet though, so I'm sure a panic attack or a nervous breakdown is just around the corner, maybe the first time I go on the freeway with my dad...or the first time I have to parallel park between two cars.

Today is the fifth aniverssary of the tragic tarroist attack that shook our country all those years ago.

I'll never forget that day, what I was doing, what I was wearing, where I was when I heard the news. I'm sure every one of us remember how we first found out about the tragic event.

I was only ten years old at the time, just starting my fifth grade year. My dad was watching the new as he always dose in the morning as he streaches. Usually my father would let me change the channel, but I remember that that morning he wouldnt' let me. The same news was on every channel. A plane had just crashed into the World Trade Center. Of course I didn't understand the intensity and the severity of the situation. My innocent little mind just thought that a building got destroyed, it wasn't until my teacher at the time, Mrs. Hyott, explained what happened that I fully understood how many people died, how many families were effected, and what it meant to our nation as a whole.

9/11 caused a ripple effect. Each of us was effected by it in one way or another, no matter how small that effect might have been. Though I myself was not very effected, I remember my parents calling over to cousins we had in New York to make sure they were ok. I also remember that my elective course at Chinese School was canceled. The teacher had a close relative that died during the attack and felt she wouldn't be able to teach that year.

This tragic event is now a part of our history and forever engraved in our minds. Let us never forget what happened on that tragic day.

Maybe I should quit one of my extra cirriculars....of course I can't actually do that, since all of them are too important. Hopefully my sleep schedule will even out before tennis season ends, this lack of sleep is really throwing off my game. T_T

And I really should finish the layout I started.

Gah, and on days with matches, ewwww we could be out till 8:00pm (its happened before). School really sucks. Doesn't help that i have the crapiest schedule and that I'll probably be late to all of my classes. T_T I wonder how much trouble I'll be in if I *accidently* burn down the school.

So I'm finally back from vacation (ok so I got back 3 day's ago), and I have to say, it was a lot of fun, but a lot of it also really sucked. Take just getting there for example. We got to Miami just fine, but after waiting at the airport for our transfer for 5 HOURS, the stupid people say that they sold our seats, so we had to wait for the next flight. Mind you we got there at 5 in the morning, and I for one hadn't gotten more then 3 hours of sleep in 48 hours (I don't sleep well on planes). So my dad had to keep at them for an hour before they gave us a hotel room to stay at till the next flight (which was at 9 that night). After that you'd think it would get better, but no, after we reach Sao Paulo, our next transfer flight gets delayed for an hour. Not fun. When we finally reached Rio de Janiero everything was good.

The acutal trip was a lot of fun though. It rained the second day we were in Rio, which was really unfortuante, especially since I was the only one in my family who brough an umbrella with me. And it's a single person umbrella too. My mom bought another umbrella, that she and my dad shared, and I was nice and gave my sister mine. I had a sweater with a hood, and I like the rain, though it probably wasn't that smart, considering I'm sick now. -__-'''

We went to Igwazu (E - wa- su) Falls next. We only stayed there for two days, but it was still fun. Finding dinner was impossible though, my parents insisted that we walk around the town for what felt like hours. Seems like every restaurant in Brazil stops serving actualy meals after four o'clock. The Falls themselves were really cool. Aparrently they're at an all time low for water though, so they didn't look as beautiful as they sued to. The only really annoying thing was that I got attacked by evil mosquitoes. If your mother ever tells you to NOT bring but repelant on vacation with you, DONT listen to her.

The last place we went to was Buenos Aires (in Argentina for the geographically inept) It was pretty fun, we did a lot of shoping there. We went to the Sunday flee market though we really didn't buy anything. We also went to see a tango show, which was amazing!! Fortunately we were able to take a tour throught the famous Colon Opera House (5th best opera house in the world). And like I said earlier, lots of shopping. I got a leather jacket, and so did my sister (...if your against the wearing of any part of an animal I deeply apologise). My sister also bought 2 pairs of shoes. My mom bought a leather purse, and my dad bought a really nice (Christian Dior...I think) suit, and some nice leather shoes. Bought presents too, though I really couldn't buy as many as I would have liked, actually, I don't think I have enought things. We ran out of cash and you wont' believe how hard it is to find a Wells Fargo down there.

On the way back, we stopped in Miami for a day, which was kinda pointless cause all we did was stare at the beach, pretty boring. And of course the morning we were goinging to fly back to California the new airport security measures were instated. They looked throught my carryon because I had so much crap in my backpack, they couldn't figure out what anything was in the X-Ray thing. In the end they took away this anti-ich spray I had for my mosquito bites. -__-. We got home safely tough, as you can see, considering I'm posting this, and therefore am very much alive.

I counted not one, not two, but 3 POSTERS, 2 BILLBORDS, A BUILDING WALL, 1 STORE DISPLAY, and some little girl walking around with a shirt on, all dedicated to HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL. I'm scarred for LIFE! It's bad enough that the song's are supper annoyingly catchy and stick in your head FOREVER, and that little kids run around everywhere singing the songs, but even when I leave English speaking countries I can't get away! Disney is taking over the world and it's SCARY. Please, shoot me now, actually, no, go kill the person comming up with the idea's for these creepy disney movies.

Though I am very happy about my newly acquired weblog, the fact that TIC puts a halt to that happy feeling. No more getting up at 6:30 in the morning and hitting snooze a billion times before getting up to get ready for class (atleast not until school starts). No more yelling at my sister so she'll drag her lazy but out of bed and not make me late for class. And really the roles should be reversed, considering she's the TA. No more frantically running up and down stairs at McArthur because the train you need to catch pulled into the station half a minute before the one you just got off of. No more playing duces at break time and no more of that 'wonderful' food from Pat Brown's. No more getting Boba or Gellato after class.

Another summer has come and passed and among the many it is one of the few that stand out. TIC is not a one summer thing, but the start of a journey that will carry on as long as you wish it to. I plan to return next year as a student in either AIC or TVA. The people I have met here this sumemr will never be forgotten, and I will probably see a few of them as fellow peers, TA's, or teachers in my following years.

I regret not getting to know everyone in both classes. I regret not staying behind to hang out with the afternoon class on the last day. I regret no using the online chatroom, or participating in the marathon chat, so that TIC would have a longer chat tracker then the Japanese classes. I regret not playing soccer of frisbee at break (even though the only time I did I bruised my ankle). However, I will never regret taking this class, and I look forward to comming back next year, and many years to come.
