Journal Question
- Can you imagine not having the Internet? What if, all of a sudden, you didn't have the Net in your life -- in school, at home, at play -- what would things be like? What if the connectivity you have -- with information resources on the Web, with individuals you've gotten to know online -- is no longer there? Would this make some kind of difference in your life?
Activity 1
- What makes for a good website? What, in your opinion, constitutes a well-designed site? Select two sites for each of the following categories, and explain a little of why you think they're good, or well-designed: educational/informational websites, business websites, entertainment websites, and an 'other' category (websites which may not fall under any of the former).
- Build a mini-website with four pages, one for each of the categories; we will use these documents for the afternoon activity on Cascading Style Sheets. Make sure to have navigational links on these pages.
Activity 2 - CSS, part 1
- Remake this page using an embedded stylesheet.
Activity 3 - CSS, part 2
- Add an external stylesheet to the "Good Website/Web Design" documents you made in this morning's activity.

Homework: Read Chapter 23, Cascading Style Sheets. Pay particular attention to the section on Inheritance, on page 394, and the one right after it, on The Cascade. Have a great weekend, boys and girls!
