One of my favorite things to do is to shop, and what better place is there for shopping than New York? New York is essentially a shopper's paradise... there are so many stores- you are bound to find exactly what you are looking for! Additionally, you can shop tax free in New York on clothing priced under $110. Here are an few of my favorite places to shop in New York:

  • South Street Seaport

Located on Fulton Street in downtown Manhatten, South Street Seaport is a great place to shop! Visitors strolling in this waterfront area will surely enjoy the stunning views of the East River. There are over 120 stores and restaurants. While you are here, take some time to check out the decks and cabins of the historic ships. I did this during my "shopping break" and found it to be particularly interesting.

  • Macy's

Macy's, the popular department store, is found in Herald Square at 34th Street and Broadway. Macy's is huge, so be sure to set aside a couple of hours if you want to browse around the store. Additionally, Macy's has several cafes located throughout the store. Be sure to visit Macy's during the holidays.
  • Bloomingdale's

Bloomingdale's is located on Third Avenue at 59th Street. Like Macy's, this department store has all kinds of stuff, ranging from clothing to houseware to furniture.

  • FAO Schwartz

FAO Schwartz is most famous for its wide variety of toys. Found on 5th Avenue at 58th Street, FAO Scwartz's window displays are impressive, especially during the holiday season.
