Two popular museums in New York are:
The Museum of Modern Art
- The Museum of Modern Art, or MOMA, is located between Fifth Avenue and Sixth Avenue. If you visit this museum, you will, without a doubt, be kept busy. MOMA has over 100,000 paintings, prints, sculptures, drawings, photographs, architectural models and drawings, and design objects. Additionally, there are approximately 14,000 films and 140,000 books in the museum.
The Metropolitan Museum of Art
- The Metropolitan Museum of Art is located on Fifth Avenue, within Central Park. The Met contains over two million pieces of art, ranging from Greek and Roman Art to Modern Art. I especially enjoyed the gorgeous stained-glass windows, which were displayed in the Tiffany Stained-Glass Windows Exhibit. Also, check out the multiple gift shops located around the museum for great souvenirs. One more thing-- make sure to wear comfortable walking shoes when visiting the Met (or any museum for that matter)-- you will be walking around a lot!!
